Everybody in love with JLS as group wow fans
From The Scarborough News
Even the bank holiday rain couldn’t dampen the mood at the Open Air Theatre tonight, as platinum-selling boy band JLS brought their tour to Scarborough.
It was standing room only when the Brit Award winners took to the stage at around 8.30pm on Saturday, opening the show with chart-topping single ‘The Club is Alive’, before playing for around 80 minutes to the near-sell out crowd.
And everybody was in love with the four-piece, as they tore through a hit-filled setlist that had the crowd in raptures.
The heavy showers that had threatened to appear all day finally did so just before the band arrived on stage, but the group still seemed to enjoy the show.
They even quipped that the band name could stand for “Just love Scarborough”, a statement which drew huge screams from the largely female audience.
It was the last major gig at the multi-million pound venue this summer, a season which has seen the likes of Olly Murs, Russell Watson and John Barrowman perform in the town.
But fans made sure the season ended with a bang, and the group had everybody on their feet for the full set and the fireworks display at the end of the show brought the curtain down on a successful summer season for the theatre.
